Avran Fine Art exhibits glass sculptures by artists László Lukácsi and Péter Borkovics beginning Saturday, Oct. 1, with a 6-9 p.m. reception. Both artists will be in attendance to discuss their work and the complicated process involved in creating such works at the Laguna Beach gallery, 540 S. Coast Highway.
Lukácsi’s fluid, organic shapes and optic illusions reveal his vision and the laborious techniques involved.

Twin Artists Combine Forces
Two artists, one looking just like the other, will paint on the same canvas at the Forest & Ocean Gallery during the Thursday, Oct. 6 Artwalk.
JoAnn Unger and Jacqueline Blue, well-established artists and identical twins, will demonstrate how they created their new series “Wave Studies,” where their individual styles will combine in what they describe as “a splash of eloquent statement.”
Beginning at 6 p.m., the gallery will unveil these works, and the sisters will give a live presentation of how two creative minds merge to produce a singular canvas.
Softer World Comes to Artists Republic
Artists Republic will open Softer World, a solo exhibition by Chicago-based Laura Berger, which will overlap with the fourth annual Art and Nature festival organized by the Laguna Art Museum next month.
An opening reception takes place from 6-9 p.m. during the Oct. 6 Thursday Art Walk at the gallery, 1175 S. Coast Highway.
Berger will showcase new paintings in her traditional acrylic and gouache medium, using opaque pigments ground in water and thickened with a gluelike substance. New ceramics are also included in the show.
Cove Gallery Features Lawson
The Cove Gallery’s featured artist goes by the singular name of Lawson.
A permanent artist at the gallery, 1492 S. Coast Highway, Lawson will be present for Art Walk on Thursday, Oct. 6 from 6- 9 p.m.

Nature’s Inspiration Introduced at Art Walk
The collaborative collections of bronze sculptures by husband and wife team Ron and Sheila Ruiz debut at The Signature Gallery, 220 Forest Ave., on Thursday, Oct. 6. Meet the artists during Art Walk from 6-9 p.m.at a reception offering a live band and complimentary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
Their first collection, inspired by the human form, features musicians and dancers. A second collection studies the butterfly. Both collections of bronze are painted with vibrant patinas.
