So eager are they, Glennwood Foundation founder Randy Larson and Asst. Director Stacey Enmeier have seized controls from contractors.

The Glennwood Housing Foundation is seeking to raise $250,000 by the end of the year towards operating and construction funds needed to ready the city’s first residential facility for the developmentally disabled.

Materials, supplies, equipment, furnishings and three months of operating funds are required before it is possible for organizers to complete the licensing evaluation.

The foundation, which already obtained a conditional use permit and business license, has received plan approval for construction and have submitted plans for Design Review. Final architectural plans are complete, including all of the requirements to meet ADA compliance and state licensing requirements, administrators said in a statement.

A recent fundraiser netted $11,000, helping with operating costs and construction permits for the month.

Even so, administrators are holding meetings with potential residents and proceeding with designing programs, developing needs and service plans, and interviewing training staff and volunteers.

Donations can be made by check to Glennwood Housing Foundation 101 Pacifica, Suite 255, Irvine, CA 92618 or on the website through Pay Pal at glennwoodhousing.org.
