The film subject, the late Donald Wexler, who died June 26, 2015, features interviews and many graphic examples of Wexler’s wide-ranging commercial and residential designs. Wexler’s associate Bill Sharp will do the introduction and will answer audience questions.
Benefit Concert Features Classical Duo Musical artists Airi Tamura-Enomoto and Jeffrey Briar will present compositions by Chopin, Piazzolla, Bach, Lloyd-Weber and others on Friday, Sept. 30, at Neighborhood Congregational Church. The concert benefits music programs of the church, 340 St. Ann’s Dr. “Music Heart-to-Heart” will feature performances by Tamura-Enomoto on violin and viola and Briar, an accompanist and soloist on piano and organ. Briar will also perform original works. Enomoto is a music therapist, soloist and chamber musician. Briar, a local resident, is a concert pianist and composer. The evening will include a brief session of Laughter Yoga, led by Briar, a trainer of this laughter-for-health technique. A $15 donation is suggested.
World Music Series Begins A new music series presents culture and music from around the world in free 5:15 p.m. concerts in the Heisler Park Amphitheatre beginning Friday, Oct. 7. Temple Bhajan Band will start the series playing mantras and spiritual chants from India. Tearful Usturoi, a gypsy band, follows on Friday, Oct. 14.
