Against the Dolphins, Laguna struggled offensively and never really threatened the visitors. It was a different story against the Mustangs on Tuesday as Laguna battled Mira Costa, narrowly missing an opportunity to go the full five sets with the visitors. Sage Patchell led all Laguna hitters with 14 kills against Costa while Sabrina Stillwell added 12. Aspen Rocha dished out 25 assists and recorded four aces against the South Bay squad. Francie Holte had 18 digs, Patchell 14 and Stillwell 10 as the match featured some very long rallies.

Breakers opened league play this past Thursday, Oct. 3, hosting Saddleback.  Laguna has won 70 straight league matches since 2005 and are on a 99 straight set (game) victory streak going back to 2009. Laguna is going for their ninth straight league title (1 PCL, 7 OCL entering 2013) never having lost an OCL league match. The school record is 105 consecutive on-the-court league match victories (1988-1999).
