Boys Basketball (17-5, 5-0)

Breakers completed the first round of league play with a pair of easy wins blasting Estancia 74-47 on Wednesday, Jan. 20 and crushing Calvary Chapel at their gym on Friday, Jan. 22, by 41 points with a 66-25 victory. Against Estancia, Laguna was led by Darin Richardson with 20 points and Blake Burzell with 19. Against Calvary the Breakers cleared the bench early as 10 players scored in the rout. In 22 games this season Laguna is averaging 5.91 three-point baskets per game just shy of the team record of 5.96 per-game set in 1991 (167 baskets in 28 games)

Girls Basketball (14-7, 4-1)

Laguna finished the first round of league play in second place after defeating Calvary Chapel 44-38 at the Eagles gym on Thursday, Jan. 21. Jackie Cenan score 15 and Alexandra Lewis added 14 points for the Breakers. On Saturday, Jan. 23 Laguna easily defeated Capistrano Valley 45-34 in a non-conference game played at Dugger Gym. Lewis had 21 points including five three-point shots while Cenan had 20. Cougars still lead the all-time series 12-2
