The HIP District has released their new 2012 map and guide, offering visitors and residents alike assistance in navigating the seven block area that runs from the intersection of Thalia and S. Coast Hwy. to Bluebird Canyon. The district boasts a diverse array of businesses including three hotels, 19 restaurants, several unique cafés, over 40 retail and specialty stores, and 34 services, as well as 20 fine art galleries. And there are a number of new openings, such as Jack Thomas at Home, Vogue Salon, Twig, Sun Dance and Ivan Guaderrama Gallery.

“This year 47 local businesses are participating in our map and guide program which provides visitors with helpful information about the HIP District including parking, shopping, dining, art galleries, public transportation, beaches and the rich history of the HIP District,” said Joe Hanauer, HIP Committee member and local business owner. “In just the last couple of years this area has become increasingly popular among visitors and residents alike.”

The free guide can be picked one up at the Visitors Center, Chamber of Commerce, area hotels or anywhere in the HIP District.
