Homeless Effect Laguna’s Quality of Life

Editor,

Ditto to Mark Christy’s letter to council members. Visitors are shocked by the throngs of homeless in our city. It seems that it is getting worse.

Merchants in the downtown are the most impacted. The word is out; visitors beware, we don’t recommend walking our town after 9 p.m.

Hard to believe this is Laguna Beach. The news is out.

I am just tired of hearing all of the all the complaints about the homeless problems in Laguna I and the police soft tactics in dealings with the homeless. I’ve witnessed none of the behaviors I continuously read about from people writing in this forum. I certainly would be privy to be able to as I am regularly downtown and along the beaches picking up trash at all hours of night and day. Not once in two years have I ever been threatened or witnessed any disposable act by a homeless person. However, I have witnessed multiple deplorable acts by younger residents of Laguna beach. I find this to be most embarassing to our entire community let alone our visiting tourists. Perhaps we should all consider focusing on what we as residents can do ourselves to help the so called homeless problem that’s getting worse instead of relying on others to do it for us. Just sayin……
