Police found a 39-year-old homeless man unconscious and his face covered in blood as a result of a beating outside the city’s homeless shelter on Monday, June 4, police confirmed.
A witness video recorded the assault on his phone, which showed the 6:33 p.m. altercation in the parking lot a short distance from the emergency shelter, said Sgt. Robert Rahaeuser. The victim was transported as a trauma patient to Mission Viejo, he said.
A parolee, Ronnie Rae Osiro, 25, of Santa Ana, was arrested for suspicion of aggravated assault and held without bail.
