In Honor of the Great Outdoors

The county parks department and Irvine Ranch Conservancy host the Irvine Ranch Open Space’s second anniversary celebration on July 28 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. where attendees get a chance to explore historic Black Star Canyon and the new trails in Baker Canyon.

Open to the public, the event will feature self-guided hiking, biking, docent-led hikes, and a special recognition ceremony amid sandstone cliffs, the Santa Ana Mountains, and diverse chaparral habitats.

For children, there will be trails with a wilderness-themed craft area and easy nature loop walks. The celebration offers free parking, free admission, and refreshments. Dogs are not permitted.
