Jazz guitarist Peter Sprague, awarded as best jazz artist of the year in San Diego, performs with his quartet Wednesday, Feb. 3, during the Laguna Beach Live! winter series at Seven-Degrees, 891 Laguna Canyon Road.

Sprague will be joined by Tripp Sprague on sax and flute, Mack Leighton on bass and Duncan Moore on drums.

Concerts are 6-8 p.m. and doors open at 5 p.m. A full bar and buffet dinner menu will be available for purchase. Tickets in advance are $20 and $25 at the door. Tickets can be purchased online at lagunabeachlive.org or at 800-595-4849. Information line is 715-9713.

 

 

 

Composers Festival Comes to Segerstrom

The first concert of the American Composers Festival, “Organ Splendor” takes place Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 4-6, at 8 p.m., in the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall, 600 Town Center Dr., Costa Mesa. All are invited to attend a preview talk with host Alan Chapman beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25-$110.

“Organ Splendor” is curated by Paul Jacobs and features the Pacific Chorale and organists Paul Jacobs and Christoph Bull.

The festival continues Sunday, Feb. 7, at 3 p.m. with “Superstar Organ Virtuosos,” led by conductor Carl St.Clair and offering a quartet of exceptional organists. Tickets range from $10-$50.
