Junior Curators Install ‘Life’ at Library

The Laguna Outreach for Community Arts’ Junior Curators team installed their first juried exhibition, “Layers of Life”, is on display now through March 3 at the Laguna Beach Public Library, 363 Glenneyre St.

The show features 30 works by Laguna Beach High School students, grades 9-12. The curator team selected entries from among 48 pieces provided by art teacher Bridget Porter. The display in the children’s wing was organized by the curators to make best use of the long, horizontal wall space.

Mediums include photography, watercolor, and cutouts by artists including Alexandra Lindsay, Madeline Loomis, and Jessalyn Owens..

The Junior Curator team consists of six LBHS students who are expanding their visual arts curriculum under guidance of LOCA mentors with support from the LBHS Art Department. The team includes Shannon Adams, Vivian Mendoza, Zac Richner, Kennedy Gherardini, Samantha Sullivan, and Sylvi Lyster.
