I volunteer at the Laguna Food Pantry and the last time I was there, this letter came to the volunteer staff. It speaks to what happens in this little building on the canyon.
“Dear Pantry, This has been a humbling experience for me and my family. Financial instability is scary to say the least. I want to tell you that all of you, through your smiles, jokes, laughter, and most importantly, your hugs, have carried me. You have touched my heart and I pray that some day I will be able to extend to you all the same kindness.
Love, and I do mean love! Mary”
The Pantry is swamped with people in need right now and food is flying off our shelves, sometimes faster than we can re-supply it.
We are grateful to the citizens of Laguna Beach who help us care for the beautiful people we serve. Because you reach out to us, we can continue to reach out to them. Thank you for helping feed the hungry and for not forgetting about those who are often invisible to us as we go about our daily lives. Every bit you give helps.
