The rhythmic beats of living Latin jazz legend Poncho Sanchez will light up the Festival of Arts stage Saturday, July 14.
For more than three decades as both a leader and a sideman, the conguero player has stirred up straightahead jazz, gritty soul music, and infectious melodies and rhythms from a variety of Latin American sources.
The hands of the Grammy Award-winning percussionist churn out infectious grooves that dazzle audiences. “Poncho’s appearance is not to be missed,” said Susan Davis, director of the Festival’s special events.
There is no extra cost beyond admission to enjoy the performance.
