The Assistance League, through their preschool readiness program, has provided desks, chairs and school supplies for the Boys and Girls Club Even Start Program. Each year they give students backpacks with school supplies, hygiene items and clothing.
Recently the League provided new tools that encourage math, reading, spelling, pronunciation and problem solving. “The children are excited to spend time on the new programs,” their teacher was pleased to report.
League gifts were made possible from the proceeds of their thrift shop at 526 Glenneyre St., and donations. Gently used apparel, household goods, jewelry, books and small furniture items are gladly accepted.
