Thurston sixth graders Garrett Tyler and Guy Thomas competed in the SCVA Holiday Classic Volleyball Tournament in Torrance recently. The two-day tournament drew 32 teams from all over California, and as far away as Arizona and Mexico.
Tyler and Thomas play for Lake Forest’s Orange Coast Volleyball Club 14 and under boys division, which sent three teams to the competition.
With key digs by Thomas and strong hitting from Tyler, they helped lead their team deep into the second round with two wins.
