Laguna Beach’s Beautification Council honored aesthetic improvements to homes and businesses last week, the 45th annual awards.
Commercial award recipients include: Bank of America, for its rose garden; Hotel Seven Four One for its contemporary excellence; Joe and Jane Hanauer for 580 Broadway; Laguna Beach Water District for its garden; the city for its mini parks, and Foster Karicofe for his plants in the canyon.
Residential awards and kudos went to: Peter Halper on High Drive; David C. Mercer on Ledroit; Craig and Cindy Pfent on Dunnigan; Lynn and Melissa Stanton on Weymouth Place and Sunset Ridge L.L.C.
For the first time, a new annual award, the Harry Lawrence Star of Excellence, was given to the Montage resort, in appreciation of a harmoniously beautiful palette of architecture and landscaping.
