Police Officers Luke Gilbertson, James Gramer, and David Gossamer were recognized by Tiffany Townson with Mothers Against Drunk Driving for removing drunk drivers from Laguna’s streets.
Between the three, they arrested 152 DUI drivers in 2013.
New Hedge Height Arbiter Named
Tony Farr, the city’s code enforcement officer, has been assigned to replace Jim Dockstader, the city’s contracted landscape architect, as the new Hedge Height Claim Facilitator.
Farr has more than 20 years of experience working in the nursery/landscape industry and six years with the city working with property owners to administer compliance guidelines for hedge height claims.
He will continue with his other assigned duties as a code enforcement officer.
Firefighter Received Promotion
Firefighter Bryan Sarjeant was promoted to the position of fire engineer effective Monday, March 3, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of Knox Tiernan.
Prior to his employment as a reserve firefighter in Laguna in 2005, Sarjeant was a firefighter for 18 months with the South Placer Fire District in Granite Bay, Calif.
In his new position, he will be responsible for the safety of his crew and equipment while responding and operating at emergency incidents.
