Share Thanksgiving Among Friends

Bring a favorite holiday dish and join friends and neighbors at noon on Thanksgiving Day for Laguna Beach’s traditional community feast, held at Neighborhood Congregational Church, Glenneyre Street and St. Ann’s Drive.

All are welcome to partake in the annual holiday celebration as unique as the community that created it.

“You can’t really describe this day well in words – you have to experience it,” said Dawn Price, executive director of Friendship Shelter, which helps organize the feast. “It’s compassionate, quirky and joyous. This is not ‘us and them’ – it’s all of us, sitting together, sharing a meal and the company of friends.”

An estimated 600 to 700 meals are served buffet style with culinary contributions by almost every individual or family who attends.

Volunteers carve turkeys while others prepare bag lunches for those in need.

Church Holds Thanksgiving Mass

Thanksgiving Day mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 27, at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1042 Temple Terrace.

Parishioners are invited to bring wine or bread that they will be serving with their Thanksgiving meal for a blessing.
