The public is invited to make their mark on the Great Park by participating in a community art installation of 948 6×6-inch Masonite tiles, which will be displayed at the new Great Park Palm Court Arts Complex on Sept. 24 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., as part of the Great 948 event.
The tiles will be retained by the Park for future display.
To participate, pick up a free Masonite tile at the Great Park Visitors Center, create an artwork that expresses a special place or time. Completed tiles are due by Friday, Sept. 23 by 8 p.m.
The tiles will become part of the Great 948 art event, which includes exhibitions by Laguna Beach artist Jorg Durbin and artist-in-residence Amy Caterina, food trucks and music by live bands including Strange Birds, Yellow Red Sparks and the Allah-Las.
