Author Reveals Playboy’s Role as Music Patron
Laguna resident Patty Farmer will sign her new book “Playboy Swings” at Charles of Laguna, 1816 S. Coast Highway from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 27.
The book is about Hugh Hefner and Playboy magazine’s influence on the music of the time.
Featuring candid, in-depth interviews with a multitude of musicians and singers, as well as those involved behind the scenes, the book moves from the inception of the Playboy Empire through the 1959 jazz festival, to the opening of club after club.
