Artist Steve Metzger will open a second show of paintings that focus on a color palette at Seven Degrees, 891 Laguna Canyon Rd.
The artist will also provide musical entertainment from 7-9 p.m. during the Thursday, Oct. 5, Art Walk.
Illustration Exhibit Opens at LCAD Gallery
An exhibit of original works from award-winning children’s book illustrators will be presented by at the Laguna College Art and Design gallery, which holds a Thursday, Oct. 5, reception during Artwalk, 374 Ocean Ave.
Chemers Gallery of Tustin is also a presenter.
Illustrators Robin Preiss Glasser (Fancy Nancy series), Mary GrandPré (Harry Potter series), Brett Helquist (Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events), Jane Dyer, E.B. Lewis, Rafael Lopez, and Gennady Spirin take part.

Cove Gallery Welcomes New Artists
An artist’s reception takes place from 6-9 p.m. during Art Walk on Thursday, Oct. 5, at the Cove Gallery, 1550 S. Coast Highway, which welcomes new talents Maribeth McFaul and Rosanne Nitti.
McFaul, of Mission Viejo, exhibited at Art-A-Fair. The watercolorist co-owns and manages The Window Gallery in San Juan Capistrano.
Nitti, a Laguna Beach resident, served on the board of the Sawdust Art Festival where she has exhibited her photography since 2008.
‘Fourth Wall’ Exhibit Opens
Brooke Shaden’s “Fourth Wall – Room Series,” in which the artist explores illusion, perception and identity in photography, opens at the JoAnne Artman Gallery, 326 N. Coast Highway, next month.
