Trenton Caserio, Cole Kesler, Michael Kimball and his cousin Mitchell Kimball, Cristian Menes, James Micheli, Noah and brother Wesley Olsen have joined the ranks of earning their Eagle Scout award from the Boy Scouts of America.

The Eagle award is the highest honor within the organization.  All eight are members of Troop 38 as well as attendees of Laguna Beach High School where they are involved in a range of activities, from school government to sports.

The ceremony took place on Sunday, Sept. 23 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with a crowd of 150 people, which included Mayor Egly. She spoke about the valuable service that scouts have provided to the community.  Scott McKean, the El Camino Real District commissioner, gave the Eagle Charge and counseled the recipients to “let their light shine as if it were a beacon on a hill.”

The evening was capped off by those in attendance viewing displays of each Eagle Scout’s project along with their other scholastic and athletic accomplishments.
