Seniors Add New Members
Linda Butterwick, Leslie Daff and Debbie Meeker were elected to the Laguna Beach Seniors board, providing counsel and assistance on legal and medical matters, and marketing.
Butterwick shifted into real estate in 2005 following three decades as a teacher and administrator.
Daff specializes in estate planning, probate and trust law. She has also provided frequent legal counseling to seniors at the Susi Q.
A retired nurse, Meeker mother’s battle with Alzheimer’s was the impetus for her involvement with Laguna Beach Seniors and she hopes to focus her attention on helping others find the light at the end of the tunnel.
The three new members join directors Jim McBride and Pamela Horowitz, who were elected to another term, and Tina Haines, Bob Arovas, Tom Ellebie, Louise Buckley, Dorene Butler, Terri Johnson, and Ann Quilter. Chris Quilter is chairman and Nadia Babayi is executive director.
New Trustees Join Laguna College
Suzanne Chonette and Nancy Bushnell were elected to the board of Laguna College of Art & Design.
Chonette graduated from the school, then known as Art Institute of Southern California, in 1990. Her current priorities include the support of performing and visual arts education.
Bushnell, a Pitzer College graduate who earned graduate degrees in management, moved to Laguna in 1976 when she married David P. Bushnell, founder of Bushnell Optical. The couple supported Laguna Playhouse
and The Friendship Shelter. She also serves on the Board of the Pacific Marine Mammal Center.
