The Celebrity Benefit Concert and Pageant takes place Saturday, Aug. 23rd. offering guests an evening of music along with a special performance of the Pageant of the Masters show, “The Art Detective.”
“August 23rd will be an incredible night,” says Sharbie Higuchi, director of marketing and public relations for the Festival of Arts. “We can’t wait to share the evening with Al Jarreau, the cast of Criminal Minds, our celebrity supporters… and we look forward to welcoming our most enthusiastic Festival and Pageant fans!”
At 5 pm attending celebrities will walk the red carpet. They include the evening’s hosts, the current and former cast members of Criminal Minds, along with stars of other popular television shows such as Designing Women, NYPD Blue, Law & Order, Castle, The Mentalist, Scandal, Dexter and many others.
Al Jarreau, winner of seven Grammy Awards, takes the stage on the festival green at 6 p.m.
After the concert, Joe Mantegna, Thomas Gibson, Shemar Moore, A.J. Cook, and Paget Brewster will draw the winning tickets, in the summer long raffle for a 2014 Mazda6 GT, Lugano Diamond earrings and a Hawaiian getaway at The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalu, Maui which includes airfare for two, compliments of KOST Radio. Raffle ticket sales will continue until 8 p. m. on the evening of the event. Winning ticketholders need not be present to win.
The proceeds from this benefit concert will be directed to the Festival’s building fund which will be used to re-design the Festival grounds. Construction on the new façade, recently approved by the city council, will break ground in October of this year. Concept plans for the interior grounds are now in the works.
