Mary Goree
Heaven recently became richer with the passing of Mary Goree, daughter of Charlie and Emelia Jecmenek.
Goree was one of eight children born and raised on a farm in Fayetteville, Tex. She married BK Goree in the 1940s and they traveled extensively together, including a year living in Mexico.
Mary and BK moved to Laguna Beach in the 1950’s where she worked at a local hospital and did volunteer work with Friends of the Library and St. Catherine’s Catholic church.
Goree enriched the lives of those around her through her love of reading and conversation, her sharp mind and quick wit, her gentle and kind heart, and her love of birds, especially hummingbirds.
She will be sorely missed in this world but her love of God will make heaven a more beautiful place.
