Ocean Avenue Favorite Reopens With a New Vibe
After nearly a four-month closure, a longtime Ocean Avenue restaurant reopened this week under new ownership and with a new menu.
The rechristened Laguna Beach Brewing & Grille opened this week for dinner only, but will expand its hours with lunch service beginning next week, said manager Gianni Labile, who previously ran Ocean Avenue Brewery for previous owners at the same location.
The dining establishment’s current owners, Gene and Kathy Smith, of Newport Beach, revamped the interior and the menu, Labile said. This is their only restaurant property, he said.
Early Risers Have a New Breakfast Option
Sapphire Pantry resumed summer breakfast service with coffee, breakfast tacos and burritos, egg white scrambles and buttermilk pancakes from 7-11 a.m. through Labor Day.
The neighboring Sapphire Laguna restaurant, 1200 S. Coast Highway, serves brunch Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
