Editor,

This is just too bold for Laguna Beach to comprehend.

Paris streets sans vehicles during the earlier car-free day last year.
Paris streets sans vehicles during the earlier car-free day last year.

“This year, the area concerned includes all the arrondissements of the capital. In pedestrian zones, no motor vehicles will be allowed to circulate (Sunday, Sept. 25). Only bicycles, delivery tricycles, scooters (non-motorized), skate-boards and rollerblades will be allowed to circulate freely.

The speed limit will be 20 km/hr for vehicles defined by joint order of the prefect of police and the Paris City Council (public transport, emergency vehicles, taxis, delivery vehicles). This day will also be an opportunity to discover or rediscover our capital in a different way with many fun and educational activities on the programme.”

  1. It would be a first step in getting Laguna Beach on that long list of sister cities of Paris … first we need something comparable to the Eifel Tower… but where would we put it?
