Laguna Coast Wilderness Park offers organized programs to take advantage of the wilderness. To register, visit ocparks.com/parks/lagunac. Specific locations vary. Registration is required for all events.

Nov. 5, Family Hike, 3 – 5 p.m. Easy, 2.5-mile family hike over moderate but uneven terrain. Starting at the James Dilley Preserve.

Nov. 8 – California Native Plants and Uses, 8:30 – 11 a.m. Learn about native plants on a two-mile hike over steep and uneven terrain. Ages 12 and up.

Nov. 17 – Fitness Hike at Dilley, 8:30 – 11 a.m. Strenuous, 5.5-mile hike over steep and uneven terrain with Laguna Canyon Foundation volunteers. Ages 15 and up.

Nov. 18 – Meditating in Nature, 3 – 4:30 p.m. Short walking meditation, breathing and energizing exercises, and sitting meditation. Ages 16 and up. Bring a blanket, pillow, and extra clothing. No experience necessary.

Nov. 19 – California Native Plants Hike, 8 – 10:30 a.m. Learn about native plants with a volunteer naturalist on this 2.5-mile hike over moderately uneven terrain.

Nov. 19 – Keep It Wild Volunteer Day, 8 – 11 a.m. Join in non-native plant removal and/or native plant planting.

Nov. 20 –Propagation and Care Day, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. Join us at a native plant nursery to tend native plants.

Nov. 25 – Thanksgiving Wobble Walk, 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. Slow-paced, 2-mile hike over steep and uneven terrain with park docent. Ages 12 and up.

Nov. 27 – Bird Walk 8 – 10:30 a.m. Spot local native and winter resident birds with volunteer naturalists on this 1.5 mile hike. Ages 12 and up.

Nov. 27 – Geology Hike at Willow, 1 – 4 p.m. Enjoy a 3.5-mile hike over steep and uneven terrain and learn about the geology of this area.
