Montage Gets New Director
Rick Riess was appointed the new managing director of Montage Laguna Beach, the town’s largest hotel and one of its largest employers.
A veteran hospitality executive, Riess has managed resorts from Napa Valley to South Carolina, Hawaii and Mexico. He serves on the board of the American Hotel and Lodging Association. Riess and his wife are excited to return to California and make their home in Orange County.
“I have had the pleasure of knowing Rick for many years and have followed his career as a skilled operator of some of the finest resorts in the U.S.,” said Alan Fuerstman, founder and chief executive of Montage Hotels & Resorts.
Shriver Headlines Women and Sports Summit
Maria Shriver will speak at the fifth ESPN women and sports summit Oct. 8-10 at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point. The conference will focus on the influence athletes and business leaders have on women’s sports and include presentations and expert panels about ways to drive greater opportunities for women in sports.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports activities.
