Council Fills Two Openings
Adam Schwerner was selected to serve on the city’s Art Commission by a 4-1 vote of the City Council on Tuesday, Jan. 19. Mayor Steve Dicterow dissented.
Lisa Berman and Denise Ford also applied for the post.
The same day, the council also selected Caren Liuzzi to serve on the city’s Design Review Board by a 4-0 vote. Council member Kelly Boyd abstained.
Dennis Myers, Kristina Thalman and Mark Cohen also applied.
Visitors Bureau Appoints New Board
Joanna Bear, resort manager at the Surf & Sand Resort, was recently named chair of Visit Laguna Beach.
The new board plans to continue to woo over night visitors to generate spending on local goods and services. The new vice chairman is Mark Orgill and the treasurer is Thomas Lee.
