The Laguna Food Pantry named local Justin Myers as its part-time director.

Myers, who runs an event planning and catering company, also serves as president of Laguna Beach Sister Cities Association and is a member of other local boards.

He will be responsible for coordinating communications, administration and fundraising for the nonprofit, which distributes food daily from its Laguna Canyon location.

“Justin’s skill set was very much in line with what we were seeking. He knows about food handling and fundraising and is a savvy communicator. He is well connected through his paid and volunteer work,” said Dr. Korey Jorgensen, the pantry’s chairman.
