The Laguna Food Pantry board approved the addition of its former bookkeeper, Kristin Lewis, onto its board of directors.

Lewis, now the vice president and leasing agent for the commercial real estate firm Woloson Company, is the mother of two young children. She is also co-president of the Laguna Beach Parents’ Club.

Taking Lewis’s place as bookkeeper is Anne McGraw, owner of Anne’s Bookkeeping.

Food Pantry board chair Dr. Korey Jorgensen praised Lewis’ work over seven years. “The fact that she steps onto the board with a great deal of familiarity with the pantry is only one of the many reasons we’re so pleased she accepted our request to join us.”

The pantry in Laguna Canyon collects and distributes 2,000 pounds of free groceries to shoppers from area low-income households.

Firefighters on the Move

Fire Captain Patrick Brennan retired from the Laguna Beach Fire Department Aug. 1.

He began working for the city in 1987 and was promoted to captain in 2005. During his career, Brennan responded to many of the major incidents in the city and throughout California.

He worked for several other fire agencies before his coming to Laguna and is retiring with over 40 years of service.

Firefighter Pat Cary will be promoted to the position of fire engineer effective Aug. 15.

Cary is a paramedic and has served the city since being hired in 2011. In his new assignment he will be serving South Laguna on Engine 4.
