Toni Nevens

Tori Nevens joins Laguna Beach United Methodist Church as its director of children and young adult activities, Rev. Mandy Sloan McDow announced.

She replaces Lauren Smith, who was accepted into the PhD program at UCLA, says a statement.

Nevens worked in the children’s and youth programs at La Habra United Methodist Church, her home church, for six years. Her responsibilities ranged from supervising a youth group of junior and senior high school students, to supervising a team of 60 youth and adults for a vacation Bible School that served more than 100 children each summer, the statement says.

“My plans for the young people at LBUM in the simplest terms is to create an environment where kids can have fun, feel safe, feel loved and most of all learn about the love of God and all that he has to offer,” Nevens said in a statement.
