Donnie Crevier

Crevier Starts Community Foundation Fund

Local philanthropist Donnie Crevier has established a donor advised fund at the Laguna Beach Community Foundation and also made a $25,000 unrestricted foundation donation.

“I believe in our Laguna Beach community and its nonprofits. I would encourage Laguna Beach residents to learn more about the benefits of supporting charities through the Laguna Beach Community Foundation,” said Crevier.  “Giving back to the community here in Laguna and to other communities brings me joy. During these difficult times, there are many needs that could use our support.”

Donors receive an immediate charitable contribution deduction when establishing a donor advised fund, which allows the benefactor to decide upon grantees or assign that give responsibility to the foundation, said foundation chief executive Darrcy Loveland.

Take Time for Tea and Peace

Ileana Gulmesoff is hosting a philanthropic poolside tea party for R Star Foundation in Huntington Beach on Saturday, June 25, from 2-5 p.m.

There will be a prize for the best hat at the party, which will also include 20 Chinese dancers, food, and a talk by Laguna Beach’s Rosalind Russell, the foundation’s director. R Star’s mission encompasses the rural villages of Kavre, Nepal, where peace classes have been introduced to the newly built school in Wojethar for 200 children. Local children’s peace flags hang in the Nepal campuses.

Russell’s book, “Reach to Peace”, describing R Star’s mission, will be available at the tea.

There is no charge for the event at 17151 Greenleaf Lane in Huntington Beach, but donations are requested for R Star projects. For further information contact Gulmesoff at 714 313 4386, Russell at 949 497 4911 or visit www.rstarfoundation.org.
