The pilot of a police helicopter circling over Laguna Beach’s Temple Hills neighborhood Monday, Jan. 28, was assisting in an unsuccessful search for a person that acted suspiciously, police said.
A white male attempting to hide against a planter in a driveway in the 1700 block of Thurston Drive early Monday afternoon fled over a fence when police arrived, Sgt. Louise Callus said. Police were responding to a report of a suspicious person in the area.
Police set up a perimeter and Huntington Beach police dispatched their helicopter to assist with the search.
While Laguna experienced a 21 percent drop in violent crime last year, recent weeks have seen a rash of home break-ins, including a burglary discovered Tuesday, Jan. 22 in the 600 block of Cuprien Way.
