Do We Really Lose?

Do we really lose when we’ve lost things or people or is it time for a new beginning?

A whole life full of things lost.

Still seems terrible, no matter what the cost.

People dying and you end up crying.

Here for a short while, sometimes you can’t even give someone a friendly smile.

Not even a chance to say goodbye.

You left, asking why.

Countdown to death.

Until they take their last breath.

Here today gone tomorrow.

If they knew Jesus there shouldn’t be any sorrow.

I’ll see them again in the sky, no need to ask the reason why.

The author dedicates the poem to a terminally ill Laguna Beach woman who he declined to identify.
