Recent Votes Lack Compassion

Editor,

Apparently our compassion is gone. Coyotes mate with each other for life. They are monogamous. Laguna Beach city government has made them into monsters.

With all the extra cash the city government has, why didn’t the city council vote for live traps and relocation of the coyotes?

Since the city is going to continue to use snare traps, we should know exactly how many other animals are caught and killed. The 4,000 plus citizens who have signed the online petition to stop the trapping and killing should look for new people to run for election in the up-coming November vote.

In 1997, in relation to the Compassionate Care Act, Prop. 215, regarding medical marijuana, we voted 8,626 in favor and 3,576 against. This was one of the highest ratios of people in favor in the whole state. We have too many liquor and beer outlets to count. Liquor is a dangerous drug, but we can have no marijuana dispensaries and now on Tuesday, Feb. 2, the City Council is apparently going to ban legal marijuana residents from ordering “pot” on their phones. How is the city going to enforce this un-constitutional ordinance?

The city government is wrecking this town. We were a town full of compassion but now we are slowly changing.
