A City Council subcommittee has developed a set of proposed policies, which the Design Review Board was to have considered Thursday, Dec. 15.

Three types of projects, which are now permitted without design review, would be required to undergo administrative design review approval if the policy change is adopted. They are: a more than a 50 percent change in exterior material constituting a style change, new roof material that would constitute a style change and new or relocated windows that could affect the privacy of adjacent property owners.

The new policy will provide a process where input can be given on neighbors’ improvements that may affect them.

The proposal will also be reviewed in public meetings by the Planning Commission and City Council and public notice will be provided for those meetings.

Questions regarding the policy should be directed to Nancy Csira, zoning administrator at 949 497-0332.
