Two months ago, an Orange County health inspecter announced to Larry & Nick, who work for Age Well Senior Services that provide lunches from Langlois Foods in Laguna Canyon to all the senior centers in South Orange County, that she was totally surprised herself after checking food temperatures, the handling of food and cleanliness to give the Susi Q senior lunch operation a perfect score.
Magic happens when seniors attend senior lunch on weekdays at 11:30 a.m. and donate what they can afford up to $4. The magic is the good food, great friendships that last a lifetime and classes and activities including Table Top Treasures, bingo, current events, ping pong and free movies.
Favorite lunches include complete turkey meals just before Thanksgiving and Christmas, spaghetti, soup and sandwiches, glazed ham, meatloaf, sausage and noodles, enchiladas and fish and rice plus lots of vegees and great salads.
Contact your favorite city council members and encourage them to sign a new contract with Age Well when the present one runs out June 30, and visit senior lunch at the Susi Q soon. It’s a friendly place.
