Richard S. Clark

Richard S. Clark, longtime resident of Laguna Beach, died peacefully on Sept. 22, 2013.

Clark was born in Cooperstown, N.Y., on Feb 13, 1923. He graduated from Ithaca High School at age 16 and attended Cornell University. At the outbreak of World War II, he joined the Army where he served in the Pacific. It was while stationed in Oahu that his love of Hawaii began.

After the war, he moved with his partner Norman Peake to California, and eventually settled in Laguna Beach. He was a brilliant salesman and headed the international sales division for the Adams Rite Company.
