Equestrian Susan Marie Thompson of Laguna Beach won a division championship and a reserve trophy at the International Jumping Festival at the Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park on Sept. 16-20. She won riding Cosette, a 7-year-old Hanoverian mare.
“What a great win for Susan. We are so blessed to be able to test our skills at a world-class equestrian competition grounds just over the hill in San Juan Capistrano,” says trainer Kristi Frishman, who began working with Thompson three years ago.
“As a green horse and novice rider team, Susan and Cosette have had an impressive number of wins. The mare, Cosette, loves to show and is incredibly consistent in the arena. This has given Susan the confidence to grow quickly as a competitor,” comments Frishman.
Thompson plans to move up a division and debut competing in the three-foot division at a jumping show in January.
