Laguna Beach’s elementary schools and district office will serve as drop-off locations for gently used children’s books Feb. 1-14, intended to introduce preschool children to the magical world between the covers.
“Children who are read to at home have a higher success rate in school,” said student readiness facilitator Julie Olsen, who distributed 1,264 books collected in the Bee a Luv Book Drive.
Collected books will be cleaned, repaired and then distributed to Orange County families. Laguna Beach High students are volunteering for book cleaning.
Drop off locations include the School Readiness Office, above the pool, 670 Park Ave., El Morro and Top of the World schools.
