The Laguna Beach gallery Artist Republic will showcase “Aquatics: a duo exhibition” by Kelly Tunstall and Ferris Plock from July 2-Aug. 14, at 1175 S. Coast Highway.
This is a first show in Southern California for Tunstall and Plock, a husband-and-wife duo that live and work in San Francisco.
Their work focuses on the theme of the ocean and underwater creatures.
Tunstall’s portraits depict stylized female figures, pets, prey, powers, and dreams. In contrast, Plock’s work centers on the inner animalistic tendencies reflected in humans throughout the context of modern life.
Artman Gallery Presents Newest from Verbicky
JoAnne Artman Gallery’s newest exhibition, “Semiotics,” by artist James Verbicky opens at 326 N. Coast Highway Friday, July 1, and runs through Aug. 31.
Verbicky’s work combines elements of collage with layers of resin and dye to form panels that burst with color and texture. His appropriation of vintage advertising imagery invites viewers to contemplate a culture of media bombardment.
‘Searching for Light’ at Signature Gallery
Meet oil painter Reid Richardson and view his newest collection at The Signature Gallery, 220 Forest Ave., during Artwalk Thursday, July 7, from 6-9 p.m.
Richardson pushes his brushwork and palette knife to create surreal landscapes. His work is on display through July 31.
Sandstone Gallery Opens ‘Dreamscapes’ Exhibit
Shimmer, oil and resin paintings on board by Cindy Beatteay will be featured along with “Dreamscapes,” abstract expressionist oil paintings on canvas by Ann Kim, at Sandstone Gallery in Julry.
Other exhibiting artists include Sunny Kim, Dominique McKenzie, Anne Moore, Hyatt Moore, Jong Ro, Lawrence Terry, and Lynn Welker.
