The Breakers April 9 match was rained out. The remaining regular season schedule is as follows, all in Huntington Beach (League web site: www.ibvl.org):

Saturday, April 23:   El Toro @ 10 a.m., SVC @ noon

Saturday, April 30:     SVC @ 9 a.m., Beckman @ noon

Boys Volleyball (6-5, 4-0)

Laguna took care of Calvary Chapel (9-10, 2-2) on Tuesday, April 5, winning at the Eagle Gym 25-14, 25-14, 25-17. Liam Christiansen led Laguna with 10 kills and an ace while Pete Obradovich also had 10 kills . Barry Greenough had five kills, a solo block and two block assists.

On Tuesday, April 12, the Breakers defeated Estancia (1-8, 0-4) 25-20, 25-15, 25-11 for their 72nd consecutive league win. Nine different players had kills and the match highlights were Sam Burgi’s five service aces in set two and the play of Nick Radhar. Rahdar is a three-sport athlete this season – co-captain on football, top rebounder in basketball and taking a try at volleyball. Rahdar had three kills, an ace and two block assists against Estancia.

SSCIF D-2 Poll for April 11: 1 – Oak Park, 2 – Laguna Beach, 3 – Burroughs/Burbank, 4 – Royal, 5 – West Ranch, 6 – Simi Valley, 7 – South, 8 – Capistrano Valley, 9 – Valencia/Valencia, 10 – Lakewood. Others: Hillcrest, Long Beach Wilson, La Canada.
