Artists, staff and local organizations will share simple ways of becoming more environmentally aware during the Sawdust Art Festival’s fourth annual Green Day on Saturday, July 23, with activities planned beginning at 10 a.m. All are complimentary with admission.

Highlights include:

As part of the Garden Exchange, bring in “slips” and exchange for other plants to diversify your landscape. Water-wise and succulent plants will be donated by the Laguna Beach Garden Club, meeting at the clock tower near main entertainment deck.

During Trash Treasures, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, participants age 6 and up will create art projects from recyclable items at the Sawdust studio.

Lift a brush with Wyland Foundation artist Patti Romo, who will help guide visitors in painting a 5’ x 10’ mural beginning at 10:30 a.m. near the main entertainment deck.

Using recycled materials, children 6 and older create a recycled “bug” and make a pledge to saving our earth’s wildlife, 12:30–3 p.m., also main entertainment deck. Bug beauty contest follows.

Join instructor Carmen Flores-Tanis from 3:30–5:30 p.m. and create jewelry using recycled cardboard in the Sawdust Studio.
