Dinner dance Jan. 29

The theme of SchoolPower’s 26th annual dinner dance, to be held on Jan. 29 at the Montage Laguna Beach, is “Diamonds in the Sand.” Selected by event chairs Kim Ressler, Melissa Cavanaugh and Kristin Bunn, it is “meant to embody all that is elegant and sophisticated about Laguna Beach,” while also supporting Laguna’s public schools.

Dinner dance guests will be wined and dined and treated to entertainment by the local band The F-Jams, in addition to great conversation and the opportunity to participate in silent and live auctions. Auction offerings include a private suite for the upcoming U2 concert at Angels Stadium, a Pelican Hill weekend getaway for four; and a private 90-foot yacht for a day trip to Catalina hosted by HOM Real Estate Group.

The evening’s raffle offers a new twist with only 75 tickets sold for $100 each. Each ticket buys a pouch with a pair of cubic zirconium earrings (8mm/2 carat) in white sand, along with a chance to win the grand prize, a diamond necklace and matching earrings from Rubels Jewelers, valued at $3,000.

To purchase tickets, or for more information, visit www.lbschoolpower.org or call the office at 494-6811.

Proceeds will help support important programs like teacher innovations, foreign language, music and the arts, and class size reduction. Last year’s event raised $180,000 for Laguna Beach schools.
