The school board approved a five-year, joint-use agreement with the city of Laguna Beach on Nov. 12, which includes capital improvements community pool used by students, the district said in a statement.
In August, both parties agreed to a broader pact, also of five years, setting out the terms for join use of fields, gyms, the pool, and tennis courts. An amendment for the tennis courts extended the terms for 10 years.
Under the terms of the pact, the city agreed to pay for 70 percent of the anticipated $285,000 in pool improvements, such as replacing the filtration system, which will require a three-week closure.
