A benefit to fund weekend music immersion sessions for Christian, Jewish and Muslim teens is planned for 7 p.m. Sunday, April 24, at Laguna Beach United Methodist Church, 21632 Wesley Ave.

Musician and local radio host Jason Feddy recently led a weekend of songwriting and videography at Laguna Beach College of Art & Design with teens of three faiths. A video of the teens’ culminating performance of their song, “Pray for a Cure,” will be shown at the fundraiser along with “From Madness to Music,” a documentary about Music in Common.

The organization was founded by Todd Mack to honor friend and bandmate Daniel Pearl, a Wall Street Journal reporter who was murdered in Pakistan.

Feddy seeks musically inclined young people, 15 to 20, with Christian, Muslim and Jewish backgrounds to participate in another songwriting session, May 14-15.
