Segerstrom Center Offers Musical Theater Training for Young Actors

Segerstrom Center for the Arts is offering local high school students the opportunity to participate in “Broadway Saturdays,” a new musical theater program taking place over the next three Saturdays in February.

Students will learn musical theater techniques and repertoire from Tony Award-nominated actress Erin Dilly and Broadway stage veteran Stephen Buntrock.

The program will focus on musical theater performance, lyric analysis, monologue interpretation, improvisation, audition technique and acting scene work. Developed by the Segerstrom Center’s education and community programs department, Broadway Saturdays is open to all students aged 14 to 22. The program will take place from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 12, 19 and 26 in Segerstrom Center’s studio performance space in the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall.
