Lent Leads Off With Guest Speaker
Inclusivity will be the topic of Rev. Kathy Black’s sermon on Sundya, Feb. 22, during the 10 a.m. worship service at Laguna Beach United Methodist Church, 21632 Wesley Dr.
She will provide the first of a five-week Lenten series called “My Covenant with You: What Does God Promise?”
Black, a professor at Claremont School of Theology, has served as a college chaplain and the founding pastor of a deaf church. Her sermon this Sunday is titled, “The Promise of Inclusion.”
Pastor Mandy Flemming will lead the remaining Lenten worship services through March 22. A children’s pageant, “The Three Trees,” will be performed on March 29, Palm Sunday.
